Learning and Development

Continuing professional development (CPD) is important within healthcare organizations.  Continuing professional development is important because it ensures staff continue to be competent in their profession. It is an ongoing process and continues throughout a professional’s career.

“The ultimate outcome of well planned continuing professional development is that it safeguards the public, the employer, the professional and the professional’s career.”

But at its core it is a personal responsibility of professionals to keep their knowledge and skills current so that they can deliver the high quality of service that safeguards the public and meets the expectations of customers and the requirements of their profession.

"Well crafted and delivered continuing professional development is important because it delivers benefits to the individual, their profession and the public".

Developing staff Teams

Ongoing learning will help ensure workers can remain up-to-date with best practice, and develop and refresh their knowledge and skills. Also in order to affect change within a organisation we recognize we cannot implement strategies and controls without individuals not having the theoretical knowledge and understanding about the approaches that we are using. Therefore, we will train staff on the 15 standards of healthcare. We will provide booklets and information around our 15 standards and commence a training and development approach with ALL staff who within a hospital or healthcare establishment.
